Lottery Sambad Prize Claim Procedure & Tax Details
Ticket holders who have won a prize amount can follow the prize claim procedures mentioned below.
Mandatory Steps for Winners:
- Secure your ticket: Ticket must be intact and undamaged.
- Documentation: Submit the official claim form, two passport-size photographs, and ID/Address Proof (e.g., Aadhaar, PAN Card).
- Deadline: All claims must be submitted within 30 days of the draw date.
- For Prizes > ₹10,000: Claims must be submitted to the Directorate of Nagaland State Lotteries in Kolkata or the designated government office.
Income Tax (TDS) on Lottery Winnings
As per Section 194B of the Income-tax Act, 1961, all lottery winnings exceeding ₹10,000 are subject to a compulsory **30% Tax Deduction at Source (TDS)**. The winner will receive the prize amount net of this deduction.
